Mustafa’s Story: Part I

July 7, 2016 12:10 am Published by

On November 3, 2004, Mustafa Ahmed Abed, a toddler still in diapers, was severely injured in a US missile strike on Fallujah. NMV brought him to Portland, Oregon for medical treatment in 2008. We just learned that he and his family fled continuing warfare in Fallujah and are now in a refugee camp. Here is a a PBS News Hour report about the plight of Fallujah’s refugees. Please check back for updates. We were stunned and overjoyed to see Mustafa looking strong and healthy. He is a survivor. Here is video of him and his father in Amman, Jordan in 2009.
