One Human Family

Solidarity Now is dedicated to reuniting families that have been forcibly separated on our southern border. In August, we launched a local grassroots and national media campaign to reunite a mother with her cancer-stricken daughter. Here’s the story in their own words:

Dalia and Ixcell were reunited in August, and Dalia has been by her side for every debilitating cancer treatment ever since. This is how that happened. First, we helped connect Ixcell with local grassroots support in the Raleigh / Durham area. We produced a video about their situation. We traveled to Tijuana to meet with Dalia. We launched a media campaign to inform the broader public, engage active solidarity and induce pubic officials to do the right thing. Today Dalia is giving her child the maternal care and emotional support she needs as she struggles against a life-threatening illness. We are now working to build and empower local grassroots campaigns that advocate in similar ways for other children like Ixcell. And we need your help.

Please help us continue our work by donating today. We are working to build and empower local, grassroots campaigns on behalf of individual immigrant children and their families. All immigrants and asylum seekers deserve decent, humane treatment in accordance with international law and US treaty obligations. The vast majority of Americans agree. Child separation is inherently cruel, and illegal under international law. Your tax-deductible donation will help us intervene to protect these children from further harm.
